Our vineyards
We are happy and proud to present our beautiful the La Côte region composed of 12 authentic production areas, their particular grape varieties as well as the winemakers who bring them to life.
The La Côte region represents more than half of the wine-growing area of the canton of Vaud (52.4%) and no fewer than twelve production areas. As such, it produces much of the canton’s white wine, including the inimitable Chasselas with its vibrant, fruity characteristics, as well as local specialities such as Chardonnay, Pinot Gris, Sauvignon Blanc and Doral. The territory also accounts for half of the red wines produced in the canton, such as Pinot Noir and Gamay, and also two elegant and generous indigenous varieties, Gamaret and Garanoir.
Typifying the distinctive character of La Côte, these varieties are well suited to the climate and grow wonderfully well under the excellent conditions afforded by the region’s hillsides, both in terms of topography (south or south-east facing and very steep) and meteorology.
Welcome to the La Côte area ! 12 areas of production and 2’007 hectares of vigne with Lemanic landscape backdrop. More than 150 winemakers of the winemaking communes of Morges and Nyon districts would be pleased to welcome you in their cellars.
The designation ”Grand Cru” is reserved for wines with an indication of the place of production or municipality, with at least 90% obtained from grapes harvested in the place of production or municipality and no more than 10% from grapes at another place of production in the same region.
